More than 19 years ago Partners developed a weaving project to work with Karen women living in remote villages in Thailand. These skilled artisans weave on traditional back-looms using techniques passed down through generations. We have come alongside these women to produce a market for their product and create much needed income. Providing a way for them to promote and sell their craft not only allows them to continue their traditions, it also helps them provide for their families. This empowers them to rise above poverty.

 

Each intricately hand-woven bag represents the women, widows, mothers, families and the communities where we work. Their culture and art is the story. The distinctive style of weaving, with its colourful patterns and designs, will be a unique addition to your personal style. The heartbeat of this project is love, creativity, community, compassion, story telling, fashion, and thousands of hugs and prayers.
